Popular model and TV artist Rinki Chaudhary committed suicide Thursday night in Oshiara area of Gorgaon in Mumbai.
The incident took place in Ballabh society apartments Thursday late night when she hung herself with the ceiling fan in her room.
The police team rushed to the spot when her friend Shahid Mallik informed them about the incident, the police said.
Shahid has been living in the nearby building.
The reasons behind the suicide were yet to be ascertained, the police said.
Meanwhile, her friend Shahid was arrested for interrogation and the body was sent to the hospital for postmortem, B L Chavan, Sub Inspector, Goregaon Police station said.
It is mentioned that Rinki has performed in few TV serials also.
She was living in the house alone, the sources added.
