Gandhi Jayanti celebrating Today all over India. October 2 is observed as the national holiday every year. The day marks the birth anniversary of the father of the nation.

Mahatma Gandhi who was fondly called as ‘Bapu’ was the freedom fighter of India and believed in the concept of ahimsa or non- violence. The day is also observed as the ‘International Day of Non- Violence’, worldwide.

He was an attorney by profession and was also a spiritual leader he also believed in simple living. His used to have simple vegetarian food, wear simple clothes- dhoti was his attire.

Gandhiji believed in speaking the truth ‘always’ and wanted that others too, should his belief. He was introduced to the Indian scenario by the Congressleader, Gopal Krishna Gokhale and from then, started his political journey. There was no looking back for him since then.
