Theresa Lewis was executed Thursday night by lethal injected despite all appeal attempts and protests. The state of Virginia hasn’t executed a woman in nearly a 100 years.
James Rocap, Lewis’s lawyer, made this statement, “Tonight, the machinery of death in Virginia extinguished the beautiful, childlike, and loving human spirit of Teresa Lewis. For her family and friends, for her fellow inmates, and for her thousands of supporter in Virginia, the United States and around the world, her death is a tragic loss.”
In 2002 Lewis watched as her husband and stepson were murdered brutally in their sleep. The execution took place just after 9 pm in Jarratt, VA in the Greensville Correctional Center.
